VMC
Holdings Group Introduces the VAS UBox HDTV Upconverter
NAB
2000, Las Vegas, Nevada April 10, 2003– VMC Holdings Group Corp. introduces
the UBox HDTV Upconverter. The UBox is a high quality HDTV upconverter
without the price premium typically associated with HDTV equipment. It
features complete aspect ratio controls and image enhancement filters.
The UBox converts serial digital video (525/625) to digital television
480p, 720p, and 1080i standards.
The
UBox’s high image quality is achieved via proprietary conversion technology
that evaluates the video source characteristics and selects the appropriate
filter and conversion algorithms. In addition, each major signal processing
function is performed by separate video modules. This allows for easy
upgrades to incorporate any future HDTV standards.
The
UBox is available with a large color touch screen display. The display
provides easy access to all the UBox’s advanced functions such as the
pan, scan and zoom controls and the UBox’s film mode for enhanced quality
upconversion of film sourced video. The UBox is part of the VASgroup HDTV
product line that includes the XBox modular video converter and HDTV glue
products such as tri-level sync generators, HD transcoders, and HD safe
area generators. VASgroup HDTV products are in use at leading post production
and broadcast facilities worldwide and are renowned for their innovative
design and advanced engineering.
